Job Description

Gate house / FLT/ Despatch / Operative required for our manufacturing client based in Four Ashes Wolverhampton. We are looking for an experienced Gate House / FLT / Despatch Operative with experience of working on gatehouse / Weighbridge and must possess a valid counter balance licence and full clean driving licence.

As Gate house / FLT/ Despatch / Operativeh operative you will be responsible for preparing and loading bulk and packaged product to meet customer demand, in accordance with site procedures and legislation. To receive and offload bulk raw materials in accordance with site procedures. Maintain stock of packaging materials to ensure products can be despatched on time.

Product loading
• Apply all company and statutory standards of safe working practices and occupational hygiene to all work carried out so as to maintain the highest level of safety at work.
• To act on verbal and authorised written instructions from Supply Manager and customer service team to ensure the timely despatch of product, operating production plant and associated assets safely and efficiently ensuring that all the required standards are met.
• To drum and package product, sample finished product during loading/drumming operations, allocate lot numbers for packaged and bulk product, supervise all bulk loading and load other vehicles.
• Ensure the driver has the correct labels for the product and that they are applied to the vehicle prior to leaving site.
• To liaise with Supply Chain Manager and customer service team regarding loading/packaging requirements and ensure demands are met in a timely manner.
• Update and maintain Lot Number spreadsheet, detailing finished goods despatched.

Raw material receipt
• To receipt bulk or packaged raw materials to defined production areas in a safe and efficient manner. All relevant offloading operations must be supervised.

Gatehouse duties: Receiving visitors and product and raw material deliveries. Receipting deliveries into the company's ERP system. Generating and issueing despatch notices.Operation of Weighbridge and communciation across site ia radio.

Fork lift truck duties
Carry out general fork lift work duties as requested from line manager and requests generated via Maximo system.

General dispatch / site duties
• Carry out regular safety equipment checks and area safety audits as specified in site procedures and ensure actions from audits are completed in a timely manner.
• To participate in training courses and/or in-house training in support of the role (e.g. chemical handling).
• Where appropriate, to participate in any other groups associated with production and QEHS initiatives.

In winter months you will be required to help maintain the site and clear snow / sleet using a ice gritters and ploughs. A full clean licence will be required.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, although you will be expected to be flexible to work between 6am and 6pm if needed on occassions.

Salary Guide: £24k - £26k depending on experience.
