Job Description

IT Support Technician required for our global manufacturing client, based in West Bromwich. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for first and second line support of the IT infrastructure, and training an IT Apprentice.

Key duties & responsibilities will include:
• Daily check on server health (visual and via software)
• Daily monitoring of anti-virus server
• Maintenance of all hardware allocated to all staff members
• Monitoring of the phone system and supporting its software
• Support for mobile phones in the field
• First line support for all IT equipment either in the office or externally via the use of TeamViewer and the telephone
• Managing SharePoint to help deliver internal communication and resource documents
• Supporting Microsoft Exchange Server – mailboxes, forwarding of emails, errors
• Support Exclaimer – company email footers
• Supporting Microsoft Windows Server
• Setup of VPN connections and monitoring
• Responsible for IT helpdesk
• Maintain IT documentation such as the IP address register
• Maintain IPU Wifi
• Maintain visual equipment around the office, specifically in the meeting rooms
• Responsible for backup and recovery of all IPU data
• Maintenance of the IT server room

Key skills and experience:
• Relevant IT Qualification HND/HNC
• Strong communication – verbal and written
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strives for improvement
• Good knowledge of MS Office packages
• Good knowledge of Windows Server
• Good knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange
• Able to prioritise workload
• Ability to learn new technical concepts
• Understanding of Virtual Servers, VMWare – desirable

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

£18,000 per annum
