Job Description

Production Team Leader required for our global manufacturing client based in Dudley. Reporting to the Production / Assembly Manager you will be responsible for organising production to achieve schedule requirements, whilst promoting and progressing continuous improvement. Ensure that the final product is one that not only meets but exceeds the customers’ expectations, is of the required quality, and produced on time within the build schedule. Ensure all work is completed during the shift patterns, adhering to company Health & Safety policy at all times.

Duties Include:

Provide leadership to the team acting as a positive role model at all times.
Ensure a safe working environment by complying with all necessary health and safety requirements and legislation. Report all hazards and near misses immediately with the use of the correct documentation and actively encourage/support team to do likewise.
Working/cooperating with all departments to promote a clear customer focus throughout the business along with encouraging team spirit to ensure interdepartmental relationships are strengthened and upheld.
Ensure all defects are correctly documented and passed to the relevant department for further corrective actions including customer complaints and OFIT failures.
Carry out all relevant corrective action reports in a timely fashion, clearly documenting permanent corrective actions.
Fully cooperate with the Quality department at all times to ensure that the department is working in line with ISO 9001 quality system.
Organise the manufacturing process to ensure the correct levels of production remain on schedule and are sustained whilst challenging costs ie. consumable use, scrap, hours etc.
Highlight and progress any production shortages with urgency and professionalism.
Supervise stocktakes as required, and be available to cover the duties of other parties who are involved in stocktaking.
Perform regular housekeeping audits of your area in line with the 5S philosophy.
Cover the department at weekends or outside of core hours as required.
Provide effective Tool Box Talks and presentations as required.
Operate with a sense of fairness towards staff and ensure a consistent behavioural approach. Including seeking input from your team and building consensus.
Complete effective induction of all new team members.
Manage the department holidays effectively in line with company policy.
Ensure time keeping, attendance and performance issues are managed effectively in a timely fashion and with consistency, utilising the HR Policies and Procedures.
Undertake Return to Work interviews and Absence Management meetings as required.
Promote training and development of team members. Continually monitor performance of team members
Uphold the professional and progressive image of the company at all times whilst complying with Company policies and procedures.

Working hours: 8:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 8:00 - 13:30 Friday (Total 37.5 hours per week)

Holidays: 34 days per annum which includes bank holidays
